Overview

The Trellis School https://www.trellisschool.com/ is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our growing team, reporting directly to the Education Director.  The Social Worker will lead the school's efforts to ensure that students have the emotional support needed to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance in accordance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR). They will collaborate and partner with students, parents, and members of the school staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides school social work services including assessment and treatment/intervention, to students who are demonstrating social/emotional/behavioral problems within the school setting.
  • Providing crisis management services, addressing safety issues
  • Works with the team to develop and monitor Functional Behavior Intervention Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans based on student needs and evaluation results
  • Provides direct and indirect school social work services as a related service in support of special education.
  • Provides all required IEP documentation, progress reports,  and appropriately documents crisis intervention aligned for COMAR regulations.
  • Acts as a liaison between the home, school and community providers to access, mobilize and coordinate services.
  • Providing trainings and workshops to teachers, school staff and parents
  • Attend and participate in annual IEP meetings to review evaluation results and offer proposed recommendations for Goals/objectives and direct services
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as needed

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work required.
  • Licensed to practice under Title 19 of the Health Occupations Article (LCSW). 
  • Successful experience in a school setting preferred.

  • Must attend all mandatory training(s).

Language Ability:

Must be able to speak and read English. The ability to read and interpret documents related to Maryland State Curriculum, COMAR, IDEA, MSDE, accounting, policy and procedures manual(s), safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.  The ability to write routine reports, letters, and emails as well as general correspondence. Have the ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations, with special needs children and in describing general work needs.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Windows programs including, but not limited to Word and Excel. Additionally, an individual should have knowledge of Trellis Services web-based systems/programs.
